Capcom is bringing three acclaimed Resident Evil remakes to the Nintendo Switch 2, with the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2, the 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3 and the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4 all launching on the eShop on 16 October. The move follows a strong run of releases from Capcom, including Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword this year, and gives Switch 2 owners access to titles widely regarded as among the best in the survival horror franchise.

Both the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes will arrive bundled with all their respective downloadable content, including the Separate Ways expansion for Resident Evil 4, which tells the story from Ada Wong's perspective. Resident Evil 2 has sold more than 19 million copies to date, meaning many fans may have already played it, but the Switch 2 release also serves to prepare players for Resident Evil: Veronica, a remake of the 2000 Dreamcast game Code: Veronica due out next year, which continues the story of Claire Redfield immediately after the events of Resident Evil 2.
