The Fate of Stephen Graham’s Perfect Crime Series Has Officially Been Decided

Jimmy McGovern says the BBC prison drama *Time* will not return for a fourth season, as he believes the anthology has told the stories it set out to tell. The decision closes a series that expanded beyond its original plan after its first instalment became unexpectedly popular.

McGovern said the three seasons covered men, women and young people in prison. The first was planned as a single three-episode story about a men’s prison, but the BBC asked for more after it was well received and drew a large audience. The anthology’s changing casts have included Stephen Graham and Sean Bean, Jodie Whittaker and Bella Ramsey, and David Tennant.
