The full Blood of Dawnwalker game will be released on disc, Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves confirm

Eurogamer · 2 months ago

Bandai Namco and developer Rebel Wolves have confirmed that the upcoming vampire role-playing game The Blood of Dawnwalker will ship on disc containing the full game data, rather than a code merely unlocking a download. This matters because the games industry has recently moved towards discs that act as little more than authentication tokens, with Sony announcing it will end PlayStation disc production by 2028 and Rockstar confirming Grand Theft Auto 6 will ship with an in-box code rather than the game itself.

Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed the disc release in an interview, and Bandai Namco clarified that "the full game data is on disc, with a day-one patch recommended." The Blood of Dawnwalker is due for release on 3rd September, and Eurogamer's writer, having played four hours of it, praised its combat depth and its ideas around sandbox freedom and time constraints, calling it one of the more promising RPGs in recent memory.
