‘The Furious’ Star Xie Miao to Headline U.S.-Set Martial Arts Crime Thriller for Stars Collective (EXCLUSIVE)
Chinese martial arts star Xie Miao is to lead an English-language action crime thriller set in the United States, being developed by Los Angeles-based Stars Collective. The film will pursue the realistic, hard-hitting martial arts style that characterised his recent hit "The Furious" and aims to position him as a major international action lead whilst appealing to genre fans worldwide. The project was announced at the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market.
Xie, born in Beijing, began as a child actor and achieved multiple wushu championship titles before breaking through opposite Jet Li in films including "The New Legend of Shaolin" and "My Father Is a Hero". He holds a degree in ethnic sports and has worked extensively across film and television. Producers include Peter Luo, Wayne Wei Jiang and Wei Junzi, with Nancy Xu producing for Stars Collective. The company, founded in 2020, operates from Los Angeles, China and Japan, and currently has over 60 original properties in development across film, animation, games and immersive experiences.
