‘The Last Sunrise’ Star Maia Reficco Is Finally Facing Her Fears
Actress Maia Reficco discusses her leading role in Prime Video's romance film adaptation "The Last Sunrise," out on 26 August, and the forthcoming release of her debut music EP. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 26-year-old reflects on how playing the character Ry helped her overcome insecurities about femininity and being seen as conventionally attractive on screen, while also opening up for the first time about the vulnerability of sharing original music with the public.
Reficco, who moved from the US to Argentina as a child, began her career on Nickelodeon Latin America's "Kally's Mashup" before breaking through with her role as Noa Olivar in "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin," which ran for two seasons between 2022 and 2024. "The Last Sunrise" is based on the bestselling novel by Anna Todd, who also produced the film alongside director Carlson Young, and marks Reficco's first starring role in a romance feature. She describes music as always having been her true calling and says she is both frightened and excited to share her vulnerabilities through her upcoming EP.
