The latest trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil film, directed by Zach Cregger of Weapons fame, has been released, revealing further Easter eggs for fans of the video game series ahead of its September cinema release. The footage centres on medical courier Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, who takes a dangerous delivery job near Raccoon City and ends up fighting off monstrous creatures while sheltering in an abandoned farmhouse, keeping the survival horror tone that defines the games.

The new clip is considered slightly less frightening than the first trailer but still contains unsettling moments, including a scene in a blood-splattered hospital where a small hand, possibly belonging to an infected newborn, is seen emerging from a cot. It also features several nods to the games, such as a typewriter and a box of shotgun shells found in the farmhouse, plus the medical pack Bryan carries throughout. Resident Evil is set in an original story on the fringes of the Resident Evil 2 game world and is due in theatres on 18 September 2026.
