Netflix is developing an early-stage spinoff of ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ starring Cobie Smulders as Artemisia “Emi” Finch, the newly introduced half-sister of lead character Mickey Haller. The project could extend the legal drama beyond its forthcoming fifth and final season, although Netflix has not commented publicly.

Emi first appeared in the fourth-season finale and will return for the 10-episode fifth season, adapted from Michael Connelly’s ‘Resurrection Walk’. That season follows Mickey, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, as he tries to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction while confronting family secrets; executive producers Ted Humphrey, Dailyn Rodriguez and Matthew J. Lieberman are reportedly writing the spinoff, with A+E Studios producing.
