The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is Finally Introducing Galadriel’s Husband Celeborn — And a Famous Face From Stranger Things is Playing Her ‘Lover-Boy’ Beau

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will finally introduce Galadriel's husband Celeborn in its upcoming third season, with Stranger Things actor Jamie Campbell Bower cast in the role. The character has been referenced but absent since the series began, with Galadriel previously stating he never returned from fighting the villain Morgoth, so his introduction fills a long-standing gap in the Amazon Prime Video show's story and reunites the pair after millennia apart within the fiction.

Bower, known for playing Vecna in Stranger Things, described Celeborn's dynamic with Galadriel as rooted in longing, drawing comparisons to J.R.R. Tolkien's own wartime separations from his wife Edith. Season three, which does not yet have a confirmed release date beyond "before the end of 2026", will jump forward several years to the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord attempts to forge the One Ring. The show, reportedly budgeted around $1 billion, is still said to be on track for five seasons under Amazon's continued backing.
