FX has confirmed that “The Lowdown” will return for its second season on 14 October, with weekly episodes following its premiere on FX and Hulu in the US and Disney+ internationally. The announcement sets the return of Ethan Hawke’s Tulsa journalist Lee Raybon, whose investigations into local corruption remain central to the drama.

The first episode will air at 9pm Eastern/6pm Pacific, and the returning cast includes Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Rafael Casal and Keith David. New arrivals Betty Gilpin and Tommy Lee Jones play a public defender who draws Lee into a prison disappearance case and Lee’s estranged father respectively, as the investigation exposes alleged misconduct among wealthy local figures.
