FX has confirmed that “The Lowdown” will return for its second season on 14 October, premiering on FX and Hulu in the US and Disney+ internationally. The drama again follows Ethan Hawke’s Tulsa “truthstorian” Lee Raybon as he investigates corruption, with the new case centring on a prisoner who has disappeared from a state penitentiary.
The first episode airs at 9pm Eastern/6pm Pacific, followed by weekly instalments. Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Rafael Casal and Keith David return, while Betty Gilpin joins as public defender Ginger and Tommy Lee Jones plays Lee’s estranged father; the series was created by Sterlin Harjo and is produced by FX Productions.
