The makers of the glorious Othercide have another tactics RPG bloodbath out in September, with a playtest live now
Lightbulb Crew, the studio behind the tactical RPG Othercide, plans to release its new game Ex Sanguis in early access on 10 September, with a Steam demo already available. The game appears to retain Othercide’s bleak visual style and emphasis on turn order, positioning and reacting to stronger enemy forces, while adding more opportunities to manipulate enemies and hazardous terrain.
Players lead elite warriors called Stillae against the forces of Stasis in a dying world of stone and flesh. Combat includes pushing enemies across grid squares, drawing or repelling foes with abilities, changing facing and line of sight, and exploiting explosive environmental hazards; its roguelite campaign also offers level-up ability choices and a world map with riskier missions, bosses and resource-gathering routes.
