The Melbourne party boy who became an addiction coach… and is now accused of running an Amazon-style drug operation
Adam Avignone-Green, a Melbourne fitness personality who marketed himself as an "addiction recovery coach", has appeared in Melbourne County Court charged with drug trafficking after an alleged operation that prosecutors compared to an Amazon-style delivery service, with drugs advertised on a website and dispatched from a St Kilda warehouse. The 75 Hard challenge enthusiast and supplement promoter was arraigned on Thursday but the hearing was adjourned so he can apply to have the case transferred to the specialist drug court rather than proceed through the regular criminal division.
Prosecutors allege Avignone-Green was the "principal" behind the scheme, following a March 2023 incident in St Kilda, though his exact role — whether managing the website, directing others or sourcing drugs — is still being clarified, and the amount involved is not said to reach a commercial quantity. A second man linked to the operation has already pleaded guilty to trafficking a commercial quantity of drugs and dealing with the proceeds of crime, and was separately sentenced in the drug court; prosecutors said the pair had worked together before "splitting". Avignone-Green's barrister said his client, currently remanded on unrelated charges to be dealt with in the magistrates' court, would welcome a drug and alcohol treatment order and has previously made "significant attempts" at rehabilitation.
