Jessica Alba has revealed that filming the 2007 comedy Good Luck Chuck left her deeply uncomfortable, saying its numerous sex scenes made the production feel like it had crossed into pornography. The actor, who also starred in Fantastic Four the same era, said she fled the set every day once filming wrapped, adding to a run of experiences that pushed her to reassess her career by the end of the 2000s.

Alba played the love interest opposite Dane Cook in the film, in which his character is cursed so that every woman he sleeps with subsequently finds true love, a premise that required a heavy schedule of simulated sex scenes across the 30-day shoot. She said the set had a laddish atmosphere and claimed several actresses appearing nude in the film, some reportedly strippers, felt misled about what the roles involved, even though she herself understood the script's content beforehand. Critic Roger Ebert panned the film at the time as "slimy" and "potty-mouthed", and Alba has previously described a similarly negative experience filming a nude scene for Fantastic Four.
