Quentin Tarantino has said he would like to make a romantic comedy, arguing that the genre has been unfairly marginalised. The prospect matters because he is better known for crime, western and martial-arts-influenced films, and has indicated that he intends to make only one more feature.

Tarantino said his previous love stories, including his screenplay for True Romance, were romantic despite their violence, and that a rom-com would need to be made in his distinctive style. He has cited films including Music and Lyrics and It’s Complicated as favourites, but his planned project The Movie Critic was scrapped and his final film remains undecided.
