A new teaser for the live-action Street Fighter film has offered a first look at Jason Momoa’s Blanka using the character’s signature electric attacks. The footage suggests the adaptation is leaning into the games’ exaggerated powers and recognisable character designs, an important sign for fans after previous film versions received mixed reactions.

The 45-second teaser debuted at The Game Awards and features several fighters, including Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile and Balrog, alongside Blanka. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film is set in 1993 and is due to reach cinemas on 16 October 2026; its ensemble includes Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Callina Liang, Cody Rhodes and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
