‘The Penguin’ Creator Officially Returns With New Series for Batman’s Steamiest Villain
DC Studios is developing a solo series about Batman villain Poison Ivy, with Lauren LeFranc attached as an executive producer. The project brings another Gotham character to the screen after the success of The Penguin, though its place in DC’s current continuity has not been confirmed.
LeFranc, who was showrunner on The Penguin, will not write the new series; DC is seeking writers and a lead actor. Poison Ivy, also known as Dr Pamela Isley, first appeared in 1966 and is portrayed as a botanist altered to control plants and use poisons. Uma Thurman played her in the 1997 film Batman & Robin, and the series has no announced release date.
