‘The Pitt’ Producer’s New Netflix Series Officially Sets Premiere Date
Netflix has set 17 December as the premiere date for *Unaccustomed Earth*, a family drama produced by John Wells, whose recent credits include *The Pitt* and *Untamed*. Based on Jhumpa Lahiri’s short-story collection, the series follows an Indian-American family and explores how love, loss, culture and belonging shape their lives.
Freida Pinto stars as Parul Chaudhury, whose cancer diagnosis prompts her to reconsider her past and return from India to Cambridge, Massachusetts. The ensemble also includes Siddharth, Sarayu Blue and Justin Bartha. Madhuri Shekar adapted the stories and serves as showrunner and executive producer; Lahiri is also an executive producer.
