The Rasmus Share Anthemic Cover Of Alphaville’s ‘Forever Young’
The Rasmus have released a cover of Alphaville's 1984 classic "Forever Young", reworking the synth-pop staple into a high-energy anthem featuring the Finnish rock band's own signature touches, including an unexpected breakdown and mosh section. Vocalist Lauri Ylönen described the original as a defining soundtrack of the band's youth, adding that its lyrics feel unexpectedly relevant given current world events. The release ties in with an extensive touring schedule that will keep the band on the road for several months.
The tour spans North America, Latin America, the UK and continental Europe, running from September 2026 through March 2027. Dates begin in Allston, Massachusetts on 10 September and take in stops including Louder Than Life Festival, Los Angeles, Bogotá, São Paulo and Buenos Aires, before a European leg through the Baltics, Germany, France and the UK, concluding in Brighton on 6 March 2027.
