Hulu has released an extended version of The Rookie’s eighth-season episode “His Name Was Martin”, adding five and a half minutes of previously unseen footage ahead of the show’s ninth season. The release gives fans additional material during a long break after the season ended on a cliffhanger, with Season 9 not due to arrive until 2027.

The extended episode is available in the Extras section of The Rookie’s Hulu page. Its added material expands a tense abandoned-hospital sequence in which officers confront people accidentally poisoned by a chemical agent; one wider shot suggests someone is watching Nyla Harper before she is attacked, increasing the scene’s sense of threat.
