Prostitute, a Dearborn, Michigan noise-rock quintet, are drawing on the confrontational spirit of Detroit-area punk pioneers The Stooges and MC5 to challenge anti-Arab prejudice in post-9/11 America. Formed by musicians of Lebanese, Roma, Maltese and Polish descent, the band use their debut album Attempted Martyr and incendiary live shows to force audiences to confront stereotypes and xenophobia directed at Arab Americans, with frontman Moe Kazra deliberately embodying racist caricatures to expose them.

Reviewing a London show at The Dome, where the band performed "in the round" on the venue floor without barriers, the piece highlights their fusion of Middle Eastern, east Asian and African influences with abrasive synths and riffs, likening their intensity to early At The Drive-In. It notes this was the band's third London visit in nine months, having progressed from two sold-out shows at Brixton's 150-capacity Windmill to two at east London's 300-capacity Moth Club, with new music expected after a forthcoming US tour supporting Loathe.
