505 Games has announced a new partnership with Xia Siyuan, the original creative lead of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, to develop a sequel to the 2025 Soulslike title. The move comes after developer Leenzee reportedly collapsed following Xia's expulsion from the studio, with the rest of the team said to be unwilling to continue outsourcing development. The announcement suggests renewed prospects for the franchise despite the turmoil surrounding its creators.

Xia will lead the new project through his own studio, Indolphinity (Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology), handling creative development while 505 Games provides funding and global publishing. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, notable for its striking female lead and mixed critical reception amid various controversies, has reportedly reached five million players since launch. It remains unclear how many of the original Leenzee team members, if any, will join Xia on the sequel.
