The Tallest Man on Earth Announces New Album Just Beyond Endless Mountain, Unveils “Deliver Me from Trying”: Stream

Kristian Matsson, who records as The Tallest Man on Earth, has announced his eighth studio album set for October 9th release via ANTI- Records. The project represents a notable departure from his previous American folk orientation, instead incorporating traditional Swedish polkskas and folk sounds from his childhood in Dalarna. Matsson notes this represents his most authentic artistic expression, drawing from his return to his native region several years ago and extensive study of Swedish folk traditions and cultural history.

The album's creation was significantly shaped by personal loss, particularly the death of Matsson's father in 2024 following years with Alzheimer's disease. Though he began writing during a dark period, Matsson credits his father's lifelong support as motivation to create work with genuine substance. Recorded primarily in his home studio, the project features contributions from vocalist Sofia HK, drummer Björn Sima, and multi-instrumentalist Martin Hederos, whilst Matsson himself oversaw most recording and mixing, deliberately incorporating vintage equipment to add textural imperfections. The lead single 'Deliver Me from Trying' is now available, with a fall US tour planned following the album's October release.
