The Television Academy has announced the 2026 Emmy winners in its juried categories, with “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal”, “The Traitors” and “The Masked Singer” among the early honourees. Unlike most Emmy awards, these categories have no nominees and are decided by specialist panels, making the awards recognition of individual technical or creative achievement.
“Primal” won two animation awards, for David Krentz’s storyboarding and Scott Wills’s art direction, while “The Traitors” and “The Masked Singer” both won for costumes in variety, nonfiction or reality programming. Other winners included “Eyes of Wakanda”, “The Mighty Nein”, “Star Wars: Visions” and Meta Quest’s “Crafting Crimes”; no award was given for outstanding motion design. The awards will be presented on 5 and 6 September, with edited coverage scheduled for FXX on 12 September.
