The Ultimate ‘Dune: Part Three’ Companion Officially Lands on HBO Max

Collider ·

A documentary about Alejandro Jodorowsky’s unrealised 1970s adaptation of *Dune* is now available to stream on HBO Max, alongside David Lynch’s 1984 film. Its arrival comes as Denis Villeneuve’s *Dune: Part Three* is due in December, offering fans a look at an ambitious version of the story that never reached production.

Jodorowsky assembled collaborators including comic artist Jean Giraud and designer H.R. Giger, and developed an extensive storyboard-based plan. The proposed film was to feature music by Pink Floyd and a cast including Salvador Dalí, Orson Welles, Mick Jagger and Gloria Swanson. The documentary was released in 2013.

In short

  • A 2013 documentary on Jodorowsky’s abandoned *Dune* film is streaming on HBO Max.
  • David Lynch’s 1984 *Dune* is also available there.
