Corsair prioritises extreme lightness, Razer focuses on refining core hardware, and Logitech is adding features previously associated with gaming keyboards, suggesting the category is becoming more varied rather than following one formula.

Only a few years ago, heavier mice with adjustable weights were common, but players increasingly valued lighter designs for faster, lower-effort movements. Corsair’s 36g Sabre V2 Pro illustrates the trade-offs of this approach: it omits Bluetooth and compromises on sturdiness and software, while offering a 30,000 DPI sensor and up to 8,000Hz polling at the expense of battery life. Razer’s Viper V4 Pro instead uses an internal redesign and a 50,000 DPI sensor to improve an established shape, while Logitech’s G Pro X2 Superstrike introduces haptic feedback and rapid-trigger-style functions.
