The unlikeliest collab of the year? Hear Godflesh frontman Justin Broadrick play guitar on new song by pop superstar Phoebe Bridgers
Godflesh frontman Justin Broadrick has played electric guitar on ‘Bobby’, a track from Phoebe Bridgers’ newly released third album, Lost Weekend. The collaboration brings together an industrial metal pioneer and a mainstream pop artist, making it notable for its unexpected crossing of musical genres.
Broadrick, 56, appears on the song as Godflesh prepare to release Decay, described as the band’s penultimate studio album, on 25 September through Relapse. The release follows his March announcement that he intends to end Godflesh, after hernia surgery left him unable to safely scream on stage.
