Ahead of the release of "The Failures," the seventh episode finale of *The Vampire Lestat*, stars Eric Bogosian (Daniel Molloy) and Assad Zaman (Armand) spoke to Collider about the episode's climactic plot, in which Daniel and Armand carry out a grisly scheme involving the decapitation of Lestat and Louis. The pair jokingly floated the idea of a spin-off centred on their characters, while also unpacking the emotional motivations behind their actions and hinting at what might lie ahead in a potential fourth season.

Bogosian explained that Daniel, a newly turned vampire overwhelmed by his circumstances, is driven partly by anger and partly by being under Armand's powerful mesmeric thrall, believing he is helping commit a final, decisive act against Lestat and Louis. Zaman discussed Armand's reaction to a pivotal, telepathic moment in which Louis apologises for failing to give Armand the love he needed in their relationship, referencing the character Arun and describing it as a scene that reveals "a glimpse of that little boy" beneath Armand's composed exterior. Despite the brutal setup, the finale ultimately sees Lestat and Louis restored, though the interview suggests a bigger threat looms for future episodes.
