AMC Global Media has confirmed a five-year, $500 million co-exclusive licensing agreement with Netflix that will place the full ‘The Walking Dead’ franchise on Netflix and AMC+ from 2027. The deal makes AMC+ a streaming home for the original series for the first time, while preserving and extending Netflix’s role in bringing the franchise to international audiences.
The agreement covers 371 episodes: the original series and six spin-offs, including ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, ‘Daryl Dixon’, ‘Dead City’ and ‘The Ones Who Live’. Individual programmes will arrive at different times in different territories as existing rights deals end; Netflix’s availability will expand in markets including the UK, Italy, Australia and New Zealand, while AMC+ is due to gain the main series early next year.
