‘The Witcher 3’ Remaster Officially Confirmed to Use Fan-Made HD Mods

Polygon · 4 hours ago

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered will officially incorporate work from HalkHogan’s popular fan-made HD Reworked Project. The collaboration matters because it brings a long-standing community visual overhaul into the game itself, meaning players should no longer need to install and maintain the mod separately.

The remaster launches on 29 September as a free upgrade for existing owners on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. HalkHogan’s mod has updated thousands of textures, models, materials and shaders, and has received more than 326,000 unique downloads and 1.6 million Nexus Mods views; CD Projekt Red also announced a new Geralt-led expansion, Songs of the Past, for 2027.
