CD Projekt Red is releasing a next-generation remaster of The Witcher 3 on 29 September 2026, bringing significant visual and performance improvements to the 2015 Game of the Year winner. The remaster represents a major update to the fantasy franchise, which continues to expand through additional content despite the delay of The Witcher 4 to 2028.

The remaster optimises the game for modern consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S whilst maintaining compatibility with older systems. New features include the removal of weapon durability and inventory weight limitations, along with updated animations for Geralt's magical signs. CD Projekt Red is also planning a major DLC expansion titled "Songs of the Past" for 2027, comparable in scale to the acclaimed "Blood and Wine" expansion, though an exact release date has not been confirmed.
