Max Verstappen, the four-time Formula 1 world champion, is due to race an unusual event at Silverstone in which he must overtake 100 karts, each driven by content creators and Red Bull athletes, before completing 30 laps of a purpose-built layout. The race, streamed live by Red Bull, Disney+ and ESPN, showcases Verstappen's enthusiasm for motorsport beyond F1 and dwarfs similar stunts previously attempted by fellow drivers Alex Albon and Oliver Bearman, who faced far smaller fields of amateurs.

The event uses 101 identical karts sourced from Eastern Europe, all ballasted to equal weight for fairness, with the 100 rivals starting ahead of Verstappen and being eliminated once he passes them. Ahead of the main event, competitors had a practice run against fellow Red Bull driver Arvid Lindblad, who started 51st in a 50-strong field and overtook all but one. Former Grand Prix winner David Coulthard suggested Verstappen, despite years away from karting, is unlikely to be underprepared given his track record and enduring connection to the discipline.
