SanDisk has released the Extreme Fit, described as the world's smallest USB flash drive, at a time when soaring memory and storage prices are pushing consumers towards cheaper alternatives. The USB-C stick is designed to sit almost flush in a port so it can remain permanently plugged into a laptop, and its largest 1TB version offers double the top storage capacity of an iPhone 17.

The drive measures just 0.73 x 0.54 x 0.63 inches and weighs 0.1 ounces, with prices starting at around $30 for the 64GB model and rising to $219 for the 1TB version. Read speeds reach up to 400MB/s for the 128GB-1TB models, while the smallest 64GB drive tops out at 300MB/s, with write speeds generally between 100-250MB/s. SanDisk achieved the compact design by mounting the connector perpendicular to the chip package, and the drive is compatible with any iPhone from the 15 onwards that has a USB-C port.
