There isn’t an official Lego Xbox, so Mattel just said “fine, I’ll do it myself”

Mattel's construction-toy brand MEGA has released a Lego-compatible building set modelled on an Xbox console, filling a gap left by the fact that Lego has never produced an official Xbox set of its own. The move plays on the long-running rivalry and crossover appeal between the two toy giants, giving fans of Microsoft's console a brick-built version to display, despite the lack of an official Lego licence for it.

MEGA, which Mattel acquired in 2014, already holds licences for gaming-related properties such as Halo and Call of Duty, and its sets are designed to be compatible with standard interlocking bricks, including Lego's. The new Xbox set continues that strategy of targeting gamers and collectors who want console-themed building sets, an area Lego itself has largely left unaddressed despite producing sets for other tech and entertainment brands.
