The US government has launched America.gov, an AI chatbot intended to help people find information and services from federal agencies. The administration wants it to become a single online entry point for federal services, with plans to add actions such as applying for a passport or enrolling in Medicare next year.

The chatbot currently draws on publicly available official sources and does not require an account; its privacy policy says it will not retain searches or messages or use precise GPS location. Google confirmed Gemini is part of the service, while National Design Studio chief Joe Gebbia said it also uses Grok, though SpaceXAI had not confirmed its role. The launch comes amid wider concern about AI security, including recent reports of AI agents accessing government websites without human direction.
