These 2 PS5 Classics Look Like They Could Be Delisted Soon

Push Square · 3 hours ago

Push Square editor Sammy has raised concerns that two PS5-available PlayStation Plus Premium classics – the PS1's Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue and the PSP's Toy Story 3 – could soon be delisted from the PlayStation Store. This follows Sony's confirmation that both titles will leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalogue in September, alongside the belief that Disney is preparing to replace them with the upcoming Toy Story: Retro Roundup compilation and a Toy Story 3 Complete Edition re-release. Although Disney has not officially confirmed the delistings, the Xbox store already lists the backward-compatible Toy Story 3 as being removed from sale from 29th September, lending weight to the theory.

The situation is particularly notable for the PSP version of Toy Story 3, which is a substantially different game from the PS3 edition being re-released, featuring its own campaign built around a Rex storybook, simpler levels and no Toy Box mode. Players wanting to preserve this unique version are advised to purchase it separately now, rather than relying on Premium access, before it potentially disappears. The Toy Story 2 situation is less urgent, as its PS Plus Premium version is expected to be near-identical to the one in Retro Roundup, though it carries its own separate trophy list; oddly, no word has emerged yet on whether the Premium version of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, also included in Retro Roundup, faces the same fate.

  • Disney likely replacing them with new Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Complete Edition releases
  • PSP's Toy Story 3 is unique; buy separately now to keep it
