Fortnite has launched its five-week Hot Bat Summer event, centred on DC Comics and featuring new swimsuit-style outfits for Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. The event reflects Epic Games’ increasingly revealing approach to character cosmetics and gives players new themed gameplay and rewards during the current season.

The event began on 16 July and also adds a Batman Sprite, the returning grapnel gun, a Batman Beach Buggy and a temporary Bat Cave location. Players can earn free cosmetic items through quests, including a comic-book-page glider, while Shiny Hours on 18 July increase access to Batman-themed items and rare Sprites. Hot Bat Summer is expected to end roughly two weeks before the next season, anticipated around 20 August.
