‘They Allow You to Play With The Time Limit’ – The Blood of Dawnwalker’s Fantasy Races Are Much More Interesting Than Elves and Goblins
Rebel Wolves’ upcoming fantasy role-playing game The Blood of Dawnwalker will feature sentient races rooted more in folklore than familiar fantasy conventions such as elves and dwarves. The developer says these creatures are intended to make Vale Sangora feel unpredictable, while also creating gameplay opportunities that interact with the game’s central time system.
One example is the rare sanzhana: blue, moth-like pixie creatures that collect teeth from corpses and bandits, and may reward players with time-altering effects. The more widespread uriashi are towering beast-like mountain humanoids who were hunted almost to extinction, recently returned to contact with humans, and have been forcibly enlisted by the vampire lord Brencis. Their concealed mountain settlements and distinct culture are designed to make discovering them an adventure in itself.
- Folklore-inspired races will shape Dawnwalker’s world and gameplay.
- Tooth-collecting sanzhana can affect the game’s time limit.
- Uriashi are hidden mountain giants compelled into vampire service.
