Starsand Island, a Ghibli-inspired life simulation game, is set to launch on PS5 on 18 August. Push Square argues that its more mature slice-of-life manga aesthetic helps it stand out in the crowded cosy-game market, alongside familiar activities such as fishing, gardening and home furnishing.

The full release expands on its Early Access version, available elsewhere since February, with additional character interactions and minigames including kite flying, picnics and arcade games. It will support online play for up to four people, while a pumpkin carnival seasonal update is planned for autumn; a physical edition follows on 12 November.
