David Bowie’s 1983 hit “China Girl” was a major collaborative achievement, bringing together Bowie, Iggy Pop, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Bowie adapted the song, originally written with Pop for The Idiot, for his album Let’s Dance, while Rodgers reshaped its sound for the pop market and Vaughan added a memorable blues-rock guitar solo.
