Ukrainian studio Frogwares has priced its upcoming Lovecraftian survival horror game The Sinking City 2 at £41.35 / $49.99 on PS5, deliberately undercutting the $60-or-more price tag common to premium survival horror releases. The developer says the decision is about fairness and giving as many players as possible the chance to experience the game, positioning itself against established franchises such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

The Sinking City 2 launches on PS5 on 18th August 2026, with a $60 Premium Edition offering 24-hour early access, a bonus case in The Holloway Manor, and other extras also found in the Deluxe Edition. Publishing director Sergiy Oganesyan framed the lower base price as a way to be fair to players, while the studio noted the game is its most ambitious yet, developed by a team working remotely across Ukraine and beyond. Notably, with roughly two months until launch, the team opted to move the entire project over to Unreal Engine 5.8 for what it considered worthwhile performance gains.
