This FMV Mystery Set in Akihabara Now Has a Demo, PS5 Pre-Orders Come with PS Plus Discount
Onodera Group, the Japanese studio behind Death Come True, has released a demo for its new full-motion-video (FMV) mystery title Akiba Lost, ahead of its full release on 16th September on PS5. The game arrives amid a wave of FMV titles on the platform, many originating from China and Korea, giving this Japanese-made entry a distinct pedigree from the studio's prior work.
Set in Tokyo's Akihabara district, the story follows protagonist Daiki Shinjo, who is inspired to make a game based on the real-life disappearance of six women, only for the incident to begin recurring. The title features multiple playable characters and branching, decision-driven narratives with consequences. Pre-orders, including a Digital Deluxe Edition with extra cosmetics, a digital soundtrack and a "Drama Movie" viewing mode, come with a 10% discount for PS Plus members ahead of launch; the game is also confirmed for Switch and Switch 2 on 26th August.
