This game inspired by classic Minecraft dropper maps can’t work out whether it wants to rapture you or make you throw up

Developer Pancake Studios has released Sensory Overload, a fast-paced falling game inspired by classic custom Minecraft "dropper" maps, in which players plummet endlessly while dodging walls of various shapes to score points. The title leans heavily into its deliberately overwhelming visual style, pairing a neon, psychedelic aesthetic with rapidly increasing speed to create a deliberately disorientating, almost nauseating experience for players.

The game's levels are named after their intended physical effects, including Vertigo, Nausea, Peristalsis and Apocalypse, and speed up progressively as players advance. It also features a ranked mode for competitive players seeking an even faster challenge, plus a level editor offering 24 different obstacle effects that can reportedly be combined in over 16 million ways. Its promotional trailer carries a seizure warning, and Sensory Overload is available now on Steam.
