Singer-songwriter Hohnen Ford, a former Clash Next Wave artist, has released her new four-track EP 'Only A Memory Away' and spoke to Clash about the more relaxed process behind it. She said this release felt calmer than previous ones, partly because the tracks were live-recorded and she had spent more time living with the accompanying videos, easing the pre-release nerves that once sent her on mile-long runs.

The EP includes a cover of Geese's 'Au Pays du Cocaine', a re-recorded "honeysuckle" version of fan favourite 'Tomorrow's Tomorrow' developed while touring with backing musicians Trash Pals, and a cover of 'Wichita Lineman', with the tracklist playfully arranged around the "something old, new, borrowed, blue" theme. Ford explained she prefers covering artists whose voices contrast with her own, saying Cameron Winter of Geese has "such a specific voice and such a specific world" to reinterpret. She also revealed she will support Rufus Wainwright, whom she called one of her heroes, on his North American solo tour this September.
