Startup plans flexible rentals for used cars held by local dealerships
MyMonthlyCar is developing a platform for month-to-month rentals of used cars held by local dealerships, aiming to earn revenue from vehicles that might otherwise sit unused and lose value. The service could offer customers a flexible option for longer stays and give renters the chance to buy the car, while helping dealers reach potential buyers.
The Florida-based startup was founded by Igor Dobrianskyi, Kostiantyn Gitko and Vadym Zotov, who previously built a peer-to-peer car marketplace in Europe. It has signed up seven dealerships for testing and is finalising an insurance programme, a key concern for dealers. MyMonthlyCar plans to launch later this year, charging both dealers and customers a 10% transaction fee; its first-year targets are 100 dealerships, 2,000 monthly rentals and $300,000 in revenue.
