UK-based indie publisher Advent of Adventure has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a solo journaling tabletop RPG shaped like an advent calendar, with the funding drive closing within days. Players imagine a character tasked with rescuing Christmas from a treasure-hoarding dragon, opening a new "door" each day to reveal a writing prompt that carries the story forward to a self-determined ending. The release matters as a niche but distinctive entry in the growing journaling-RPG genre, offering a creative, low-cost alternative to traditional advent calendars.

The game follows the publisher's earlier title, Advent of Abomination, a similarly structured but horror-themed calendar that used daily "scare ratings" and branching prompts, and which proved popular enough to warrant a reprint alongside the new fantasy edition. Both are being reprinted for backers now, with delivery expected in November in time for the holidays. Pricing is £15 for a physical calendar or £5 for a digital PDF (roughly $20/$6.50), plus shipping of about £6.50-11-14 depending on location, with optional extras such as stickers and art prints also available.
