Those rumoured Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas remasters are real, Fallout 5 is in pre-production, and Fallout 76 is getting a massive expansion
Bethesda has confirmed several long-rumoured Fallout projects in a new statement, including remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, a mystery title being developed with Obsidian, and the news that Fallout 5 is now in pre-production. The announcement marks a significant moment for the franchise, ending months of speculation and giving fans a clearer, if still vague, sense of what lies ahead across games, television and mobile spin-offs.
No release dates were given for the Fallout 3 or New Vegas remasters, nor for Fallout 5, which Bethesda's Todd Howard described only as the studio's "long-range destination". Fallout 76 will receive a major 2027 expansion called Raven Rock, a prequel to Fallout 3, alongside previously announced native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. Bethesda also noted Fallout 4 has surpassed 35 million copies sold, Fallout Shelter has over 250 million players, and an unscripted Fallout Shelter TV project is in development with Amazon Studios and Kilter Films, whose Fallout series has earned 10 Emmy nominations for its second season.
