Three people—a man and two women—have been arrested in South Africa over the murder of Jabulile Ntimba, whose partially clothed body was found wrapped in a sheet in Dawn Park, east of Johannesburg. Police have called the arrests a “breakthrough” amid public concern over nine recent cases involving women’s bodies being dumped by roadsides, intensifying scrutiny of violence against women in the country.

The suspects are due to appear in court on Monday. Police have not established whether the nine deaths are connected or whether a serial killer is involved, although several victims were found partially clothed and showing injuries; the acting police chief said officers were working to bring those responsible to justice.
