Toronto International Film Festival has unveiled its Special Presentations selection for the upcoming 51st edition, featuring five films that blend established and emerging creative voices. The slate includes a science-fiction comedy about extraterrestrial invaders disguised as 1950s bikers, a thriller following a journalist investigating a suspected wartime fugitive, a psychological drama centred on a religious hitman navigating family crisis, a contemporary romance narrative, and an Argentinian character study exploring personal upheaval across historical decades.

The programming reflects TIFF's stated curatorial approach of selecting works that address contemporary themes whilst showcasing diverse storytelling perspectives. Spanning multiple continents and genres, the selections feature A-list ensemble casts alongside acclaimed directors, with several titles marking directorial debuts or sophomore features. The festival runs 10–20 September at the 51st edition presented by Rogers.
