An autopsy report has confirmed that actor Tim Curry, best known for playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, died of coronary artery disease. Documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, obtained by People, also listed a history of stroke and kidney cancer as contributing conditions, though these were not the underlying cause of death. Curry had been in fragile health for over a decade after suffering a major stroke in 2012.

Curry died on 25 August at his home in the Toluca Lake neighbourhood of Los Angeles, aged 80; the records noted he had not undergone surgery for coronary artery disease, kidney cancer or stroke. A three-time Tony Award nominee, he built a wide-ranging career beyond Rocky Horror, including stage roles in Travesties with the Royal Shakespeare Company, television work such as Three Men in a Boat and The Life & Times of William Shakespeare, and film parts including Annie (1982), Clue (1985) and Muppet Treasure Island (1996).
