Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens says he believes his singing is as strong as, or stronger than, at any previous point in his career, despite recent comments about vocal difficulties. The former Judas Priest singer said the issue has mainly been the need to warm up before shows, rather than an inability to perform, and he remains determined to deliver demanding high notes live.

Owens said he had never warmed up before performances until recently, but is now adapting his routine as he gets older and manages occasional vocal issues. He said he works out regularly, has lost weight and feels physically healthy, while also learning when to moderate his delivery rather than always attempting every note at full intensity. He still feels excitement and some pressure before going on stage, particularly because he wants audiences to respond positively to his performances.
