Tinashe unveils new album Popstar and single Crash Out
Tinashe has announced her new album, Popstar, due for release on 25 September, alongside the surprise drop of a new single, "Crash Out". The announcement follows a viral clip of the singer smashing a car window with a sledgehammer in Los Angeles earlier in the week, which turns out to have been a teaser for the song. The release marks her first full-length record since 2024's Quantum Baby and comes as the 33-year-old continues to build momentum following recent chart success.
"Crash Out" is the second single from the 16-track album, following the earlier release "Too Easy", and sees Tinashe addressing online critics over a woozy production. Popstar follows Quantum Baby, which debuted at number 199 on the Billboard 200, though Tinashe has since scored hits with 2024's "Nasty" (number 61 on the Hot 100) and 2025's "No Broke Boys" remix with Disco Lines, which reached number 39. She is set to perform new material from the album at the All Things Go festival in Maryland on the weekend of its release.
